The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians has nominated Renee Markovich, MD, of Akron, OH, for appointment to a three-year term as chapter trustee on the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Board of Trustees.
Dr. Markovich is clinical associate director at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Center for Family Medicine Residency Program in Akron. A past chair of the OAFP Foundation and past recipient of the OAFP Foundation’s Philanthropist of the Year award, Dr. Markovich served a four-year term on the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development. She was elected to serve as new physician alternate delegate/delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates in 2000 and 2001. She is an OAFP past president and is currently one of Ohio’s delegates to the AAFP Congress of Delegates.
A volunteer at a women and children’s shelter in Akron, Dr. Markovich also volunteers with the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) at the Northeast Ohio Medical University where she was recognized this past May as recipient of the 2017 FMIG Volunteer Faculty Award.
