Virtual Membership Meeting & Family Medicine Celebration

The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) will be hosting two “new and improved” events in August!

Members will now have the opportunity to participate in a brief virtual business meeting on Thursday, August 8, and a one-day, in-person family medicine celebration on Saturday, August 17, at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, OH.

Details are forthcoming and registration will open in early June. To be notified when registration opens, please contact Emily Pavoni.

Virtual Membership Meeting

Join us on Thursday, August 8, at 7 p.m. from the comfort of your own home to make your voice heard and contribute to the business decisions for the Academy.

This virtual meeting consisted of bylaws-mandated annual business activities including:
  • Election of officers
  • Discussion and approval of bylaws amendments
  • Recommendations that require approval from the membership.

Family Medicine Celebration

The OAFP has heard your plea to bring back in-person networking with your peers and is excited to announce that we will be taking a “tour of Ohio” to celebrate the birthplace of family medicine and the family physicians who collectively better the health of all Ohioans! Over the next few years, the OAFP will tour the state, celebrating family medicine in Ohio at unique venues that encourage socialization and networking.

By bringing the “family of family medicine” together, the OAFP will reignite your passion for family medicine and inspire the next generation to choose family medicine and Ohio for their futures!

First up on our “tour of Ohio” is COSI in Columbus on Saturday, August 17! This in-person meeting will include:
  • Member recognition
  • Installation of officers
  • American Academy of Family Physicians update
  • Advocacy update
  • Ample time for networking with your peers and venue exploration with your family.

Plan now to join us for one or both meetings to enjoy all your Academy has to offer! To be notified when registration opens, please contact Emily Pavoni.
