The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians has recommended resident member Christen Johnson, MD, MPH, and medical student member Elena Curry for appointment to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Commission on Health of the Public and Science.
Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree and masters of public health with an emphasis on population health from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Her master’s thesis focused on health disparities. Dr. Johnson, PGY 3 at The Ohio State University (OSU) Family Medicine Residency, is in the urban family medicine track which has an emphasis on service to underserved communities. She served as the resident member of the AAFP Commission on Health of the Public and Science in 2019 and is seeking re-appointment to a second, one-year term.
Ms. Curry is a fourth year medical student at OSU. She has served as AAFP student delegate to the American Medical Association-Medical Student Section, as president of her Family Medicine Interest Group, and as Ohio’s delegate to the AAFP National Congress of Student Members.
Good luck to you both!
