Haley Coleman, a fourth-year medical student at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), has been recommended by the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians for appointment to an American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) commission.
Ms. Coleman recently began her second year as the medical student representative on the OAFP Board of Directors after having served as alternate student director. Deeply committed to family medicine, Ms. Coleman has been involved in family medicine interest group leadership since her first year of medical school. She was part of the AAFP Foundation Emerging Leaders Institute Class of 2016-17 where she worked to develop website and medical records system connectivity among migrant shelters throughout Mexico. Passionate about underserved populations and migrant health, Ms. Coleman founded and serves as president of the SOAR Student Run Free Clinic at NEOMED.
