Ohio Academy of Family Physicians member Gary LeRoy, MD, of Dayton, OH, was installed as president of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) on September 25 during the AAFP Congress of Delegates meeting in Philadelphia. Dr. LeRoy served during the previous year as president-elect and following his one-year term as president, will serve another one-year term as AAFP board chair. Read more about Dr. LeRoy.
In addition, Kelly Thibert, DO, co-chief resident at OhioHealth Grant Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, OH, was installed as resident member of the AAFP Board of Directors on September 29. Dr. Thibert was elected resident board member at the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students (National Conference) held in Kansas City, MO, last July. Dr. Thibert currently serves as the resident member of the AAFP Commission on Membership and Member Services.
And, Cleveland, OH, native and former medical student member of the OAFP, Ada Stewart, MD, of, Columbia, SC, was elected AAFP president-elect. Dr. Stewart earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo (now University of Toledo College of Medicine).
