Throughout November and December, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) network will host a series of regional events called Real Talks with Family Docs where medical students will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with family physicians practicing within regions all over the United States.
Find out what it’s really like to be a family doctor from physicians across the country as they open up to students about why they chose family medicine as their career and what their daily lives are like. Participants will meet with and talk to each featured family physician in small breakout rooms, rotating to the next breakout room after an allotted period of time.
- Tuesday, November 9, at 8 p.m. – Join Alex Crockett, FMIG National and Region 4 Coordinator, for Real Talks with Family Docs: Northeast
- Tuesday, November 16, at 8 p.m. – Join Katie Yu, FMIG Region 2 Coordinator, for Real Talks with Family Docs: Midwest
- Tuesday, November 30, at 8 p.m. – Join Cody Klinker, FMIG Region 3 Coordinator, for Real Talks with Family Docs: Mid-Atlantic (Ohio’s region)
- Tuesday, December 7, at 8 p.m. – Join Garrett Kneese, FMIG Region 1 Coordinator, for Real Talks with Family Docs: West/Southwest
- Tuesday, December 14, at 8 p.m. – Join Austin Brooks, FMIG Region 5 Coordinator, for Real Talks with Family Docs: Southeast.
Events are organized by geographic region, and students can come to as many as they like, no matter where they live. Registration is required for each event. Family physician guests will reflect the opportunities to make family medicine whatever you want to be no matter where you want to live.
