The Mount St. Joseph University Physician Assistant Program has partnered with the University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Family and Community Medicine for a highly rated one-year, part-time faculty-development fellowship.
This Transformational Fellowship for Community Primary Care Champions is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and has successfully trained three classes of physicians and physician assistants in leadership, healthcare transformation, and education. The curriculum is built on quality improvement, social determinants of health, substance use disorders, collaborative mental health care, medical education curriculum design, and provider wellness. We are currently seeking applicants for our fourth class of primary care providers. Graduates will be better prepared to care for the evolving primary care needs of patients as transformational providers and community champions.
Eligible fellows MUST have a minimum of two years of primary care practice. The fellowship provides a stipend for protected time. The curriculum is delivered through a revolving monthly schedule of events and activities, including time for self-study to complete exercises and activities, developing a community practice quality improvement project, and participation in stimulating group discussions with community experts. Continuing medical education is also offered for didactic activities.
The fellowship runs September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2022. The fellowship is entirely remote, with all activities occurring virtually or asynchronously; no travel is necessary for any part of the fellowship. If you or one of your colleagues would like more information or to apply, please visit our fellowship website. All applications are being considered through Tuesday, June 15.
