On June 26, the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on the continuing challenges of MACRA and MIPS implementation.
The hearing featured witnesses from five medical societies, including a family physician, David O. Barbe, MD, MHA, who is also the immediate past president of the American Medical Association. Panelists echoed many of the sentiments the AAFP shared about the need to reduce administrative burdens, allowing flexibility for rural physicians, improving electronic health record interoperability, and providing care coordination resources.
