The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians’ (OAFP) spring issue of its quarterly magazine, The Ohio Family Physician, features member articles that analyze various alternative payment models (APMs) in family medicine. Although there are many paths to choose from, each APM presents an opportunity for family physicians to move away from fee-for-service and toward payment policies that promote and finance coordinated, continuous, and comprehensive primary care.
We hope that this issue will inspire you to explore different APMs, or even solidify your decision in how you’re practice is currently structured. Either way, your Academy is resolved in helping its members access insights and resources to better understand the evolving landscape of APMs.

Please consider sponsoring a student and/or resident to attend the Family Medicine Celebration to encourage future involvement and promote family medicine. The OAFP Foundation’s feature, Spring into Precepting, highlights the impact and importance of precepting medical students and encourages physicians to volunteer for the 2024 Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program.
The OAFP Board and staff wish you a happy and healthy spring!
