The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) advocacy team, Government Relations Director Jeremy Blake and OAFP Lobbyist Lauren Huddleston, JD, interviewed each of the six judicial candidates for the Ohio Supreme Court. These interviews are now available for you to watch on the Ohio Supreme Court Candidate Forum page of the OAFP’s website.
In Ohio, the election season began with early in-person voting on October 12, and concludes on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8. This year’s election includes the positions of United State Senator, governor, statewide executive officers, members of Congress, state legislators, local elected positions, and the all too important positions of Ohio’s judiciary. Please be sure to make your voice heard by voting your complete ballot, including Judges.
- For Chief Justice: Justice Jennifer Brunner (D) vs. Justice Sharon Kennedy (R)
- For Justice: incumbent Justice Pat Fischer (R) vs. 10th District Court of Appeals Judge Terri Jamison (D)
- For Justice: incumbent Justice Pat DeWine (R) vs. 1st District Court of Appeals Judge Marilyn Zayas (D).
In the videos, you will observe our advocacy team welcoming each of the candidates and asking each of them the same five questions. Watch the interviews to learn about these leaders as people and as decision makers and then decide for yourself on which candidate will earn your vote!

Collectively, we’ve all experienced the effects of decisions made by judges and we know the vital role of the Ohio Supreme Court in our daily lives. From issues such as redistricting legislative maps and privacy issues, the three Ohio Supreme Court races this year are significant. Physicians, patients, and all eligible voters need to make their voices heard by making a plan to vote and then vote. To learn more about the candidates on your ballot, please view the Ohio Voter Guide.
The OAFP is proud to provide this important opportunity for members to hear from the Ohio Supreme Court candidates and we hope that you find it useful.
