The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians launched a new program in fall 2019 that recognizes community and corporate supporters that are making a commitment to family medicine in Ohio as our “Partners in Health.”
Linked directly from the front page of the OAFP website, the Partners in Health Program is an online resource that contains links to organizations that provide patient education and high-value tools designed to support family physicians and their care teams deliver optimal frontline care.
The Academy is extremely grateful to our first two community organizations to join the Partners in Health Program, the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Both ACS and ODH have been trusted and supportive partners to OAFP for over ten years and our collective work has resulted in several award winning team engagement, quality improvement initiatives. We couldn’t be prouder to launch this prestigious program with such terrific partners.
- American Cancer Society with educational resources on cancer related topics along with links to colorectal cancer screening and HPV vaccination guides to improve practice performance and patient outcomes.
- Ohio Department of Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Control program’s promotion of a no-cost, self-paced continuing education program, Cancer Survivorship E-Learning Series for Primary Care Providers, a program of the National Cancer Survivorship Resource Center, which provides a forum to educate primary care providers about how to better understand and care for cancer survivors.
