The OAFP Foundation (Foundation) is seeking fearless and determined family physicians that are up for building a strong and thriving family medicine workforce for Ohio! Individuals appointed will serve on the Board of Trustees for a three-year term beginning Saturday, January 1, 2022, and ending Thursday, December 31, 2024.
The helpful advice and leadership contributed to the Foundation by passionate family physicians assists in the continuing development of Foundation programs that provide medical students with a better understanding of family medicine, encouragement to choose the family medicine specialty, and development of future leaders for the specialty.
The Foundation Board of Trustees is responsible for maintaining a proper balance among the interests of OAFP members, Foundation staff, and the general public. The Board is responsible and accountable to the organization’s donors, constituents, and the community at large.
Trustees are expected to attend meetings and to take part in the decision-making process. They are required to exercise a reasonable degree of knowledge, skill, and care in bringing their best judgment to the performance of their responsibilities. It is the duty of the trustees to keep themselves informed on programs of the Foundation, to study materials that are distributed to them, and to exercise basic, sound judgment in arriving at decisions.
Physicians interested in serving should send their CV and a brief statement describing their interest in serving on the Foundation Board of Trustees to Director of Foundation and Strategic Programs Kaitlin McGuffie by Friday, September 17.
