Academy members and their care teams can join a team of American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) experts from 8-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, for “COVID-19 Vaccines: How They’re Made and What They Do,” a livestream event in the AAFP’s new comprehensive continuing medical education (CME) program on improving vaccine confidence.
During the livestream, participants will:
- Discuss the process of development of vaccines from trials through to full Food and Drug Administration approval
- Describe the mechanisms by which the different COVID-19 vaccine platforms stimulate the immune system
- Describe the latest data on the safety and efficacy of the different COVID-19 vaccines, including the incidence of post-vaccine complications or adverse events
- Discuss the impact of SARS-CoV-2 variants on vaccine efficacy.
CME credit is available for participating livestream. The on demand session will be available after each livestream event. Enduring credit will be available.
