It appears the Ohio House Health Committee Chair Scott Lipps may soon call for a committee vote on House Bill (HB) 177, legislation that would allow advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) independent practice authority. The vote looks like it could go either way.
Now is the time to reinforce your opposition to this legislation! Please use the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Speak Out system to contact your legislator today to let them know that physicians and APRNs are not interchangeable.
If high-quality, appropriate patient care is the goal for patients in our state, legislators should vote NO on HB 177!
Dears Sirs,Madame. APRN is not equivalent to MD/DO physicians that have 4 year pre-Med study , 4 years rigorous Med school and 3 years Primary care Residency training. APRN is important for current day health care but not independent practice. They are not MD/DO physicians. Thank you, Dr Prasnal
