Physicians and other health care professionals have a new tool to support their work in caring for patients with diabetes: a resource webpage, developed through collaboration among the Ohio Department of Medicaid, the Ohio Medicaid Managed Care Plans, and the Ohio Association of Health Plans. Aligned efforts and resources like these are the key to making real change to better the lives of your patients and our members.
To achieve these goals, the Medicaid plans have worked on several initiatives this year to make it easier for health care teams to treat their patients with diabetes, and for Medicaid members to get improved access to needed supplies and support that will help them better manage their chronic condition. By standardizing quantity limits to simplify how members get their diabetic supplies and partnering with vendors and pharmacists to make those necessities available at the corner drugstore, the plans look to make positive impact on health outcomes towards Medicaid diabetic populations.
