Join us for the next Bite-Sized Learning Session on Sunday, October 25, at 8 p.m. live on the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) Facebook or YouTube page.
Join OAFP member and 4th year medical student AuBree LaForce as she talks with Jake Brock, a 3rd year medical student at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), about his selection and participation in the AAFP Foundation’s Family Medicine Leads program and his Emerging Leader Institute Scholar project to assess the practicality of professional leave of absences for physicians.
Have you ever taken a leave of absence? Or have you thought about the benefits a leave of absence could have on burnout? Come join the conversation and hear what Mr. Brock’s research will provide for our profession!
Listen in and learn about the involvement of Ohio students in national leadership roles by two passionate future family physicians. The future is bright for Ohio and for all family medicine!
Ms. LaForce is a member of the OAFP Foundation Board of Trustees and is currently completing a month-long elective with the OAFP. Born and raised in Ohio, she is passionate about staying to practice family medicine in the Vermilion, OH, area. Her leadership in the OAFP has led to national involvement and she is currently the AAFP’s National Conference Chair for 2021. Mr. Brock grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and has ventured out to Appalachia and Peru during his time outside of academia. He is passionate about underserved care and hopes to care for this population in the future. Ms. LeForce and Mr. Brock have been integral parts of NEOMED’s Family Medicine Interest Group.
The OAFP will host these learning sessions on Sunday evenings (as we have speakers and topics), beginning at 8 p.m. Members can join the conversation by logging on to the OAFP Facebook page to watch live. We’ll open with a brief welcome and turn it over to the moderator and presenter to share. Live viewers can submit questions and comments through Facebook comments throughout the session. The sessions will be 60 minutes or less!
The learning sessions will be recorded and available on the OAFP Facebook page, OAFP YouTube page, as well as through the OAFP website for future viewing.
If you have suggestions for future learning sessions or have a story to tell yourself, please contact Kaitlin McGuffie.
