On February 15, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians held its inaugural session of the Wellness Wednesday series that focused on harnessing the power of mindfulness.
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was video recorded and has been added to OAFP’s Wellness Wednesday archive. Additional tools on improving physician wellness, strengthening resiliency, and beating burnout are also available through the OAFP website.
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesday program is a structured, monthly webinar series focused on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine and to reignite our member’s passion for family medicine.
The series is facilitated by a licensed professional clinical counselor from the Ohio Physicians Health Program (OPHP) and is offered free to OAFP members. The program takes place the third Wednesday of each month over the typical lunch hour, 12:15-1 p.m.
If you have not registered already, there is still space available for the next Wellness Wednesday session set for Wednesday, March 15, on the topic of meditation for emotional well-being.
