The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians has nominated Renee L. Markovich, MD, for appointment to the American Academy of Family Physicians Commission on Membership and Member Services, the AAFP Commission on Education, or the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development.
In his letter of chapter support for Dr. Markovich, OAFP President Don Mack, MD, stated, “Known for her organizational skills, her ability to formulate and execute plans and her vision for ‘outside-the-box’ problem-solving, Dr. Markovich would bring valuable experience and expertise to any commission for which she was selected.”
Clinical associate director at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Center for Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Markovich is an OAFP past president and is current OAFP delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates. She served previously on the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development and was elected to serve as new physician alternate delegate/delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates in 2000 and 2001.
In addition to her service with the state academy, Dr. Markovich served a two-year term as chair of the OAFP Foundation and was named, along with her parents, as OAFP Foundation Philanthropists of the Year in 2014.
