The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) is excited that Novo Nordisk is a Partner in Health!
“Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with almost 100 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. This heritage has given us experience and capabilities that also enable us to help people defeat other serious chronic conditions including obesity, hemophilia, and growth disorders. We will always choose what is best for the patient and consider how our actions may impact people, communities, and the environment.
“Obesity is a chronic disease that leads to many other weight-related diseases. When it comes to our weight, genetics, biology, and the environment all play a role. We’re committed to improving the lives of people with obesity by collaborating with the community on education and advocacy, increasing access to care, and advancing medical management. Together with our partners, we are changing how the world sees, prevents, and treats obesity.
“In the last half century, rates of diabetes have skyrocketed around the world. Today, hundreds of millions of people are living with the disease, putting a strain on individuals, families, and our healthcare systems. We are committed to driving change to improve treatment options for people living with diabetes – from more effective medicines to better delivery systems that make management simpler and more convenient.
“For more information and services for you, education and support for your patients—across all of our therapy areas, visit the Novo Nordisk website.”
In addition to being a Partner in Health, Novo Nordisk provided financial support for OAFP’s EasyPI: Diabetes track and EasyPI: Obesity track. These free, peer-reviewed online resources can help you and your practice team identify gaps in diabetes or obesity care and implement a performance improvement (PI) activity to fill them. In addition, after implementing your chosen PI initiative, there are resources on the page that provide step-by-step instructions on how to submit your work to the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) through its Self-Directed Performance Improvement Activity pathway. Self-directed PI projects fulfill an ABFM PI requirement, add 20 ABFM points to your portfolio, and equate to 20 continuing medical education credits through the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Check out the tracks today!
OAFP’s Partners in Health Program is an online resource that contains links to organizations that provide patient education and high-value tools designed to support family physicians and their care teams in delivering optimal frontline care. The OAFP is excited to recognize Novo Nordisk as a corporate supporter that is making a commitment to family medicine in Ohio as its partner in health.
