Has it been “one of those days” when nothing seems to be going right and you need a life line or perhaps your schedule is filled with interesting and grateful patients and you want to stay on top of your high? The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians has created an online library of resources to help members address professional satisfaction and personal wellness. We’ve got something to inspire you including peer-to-peer physician videos, links to free audio recordings on mindfulness, evidence-based articles on bolstering resiliency, and everything in between.
- Identify and address systemic contributing factors that threaten or interfere with the practice of medicine
- Provide physicians and their practice teams with tools for self-care and professional satisfaction
- Empower physicians through supportive peer networks
- Foster a culture of positivity and professional satisfaction in Academy activities
- Identify and encourage positive physicians to serve as inspired mentors.
Starting this fall, Sarah Sams, MD, and Terry Wagner, DO, will co-chair a workgroup of OAFP members that will help advance the wellness objectives and goals outlined in the OAFP’s strategic vision.
If you have questions regarding the Academy’s initiatives on physician burnout and resiliency, please contact Deputy Executive Vice President Kate Mahler, CAE, or call 800.742.7327.
