During the December 2020 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Board of Directors meeting, Jaividhya Dasarathy, MD, was appointed to the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development. This commission helps guide the AAFP’s credit system and its provision of continuing medical education that helps members and other health care professionals demonstrate continuous improvement in knowledge, competence, practice performance, and patient outcomes as well as fulfill educational requirements for licensure and certification.
Dr. Dasarathy is a family medicine educator, resident research education director, and professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (Case) in Cleveland, OH. Having practiced full-spectrum family medicine since 2004, her teaching activities focus on both clinical care and research training. Dr. Dasarathy was named as recipient of the OAFP Foundation’s Mentorship Award in 2018.
Dr. Dasarathy serves as faculty advisor to Case’s resident wellbeing program, serves on the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) Joy in Medicine Resource Team, and represents the OAFP on the Ohio Physician Wellness Coalition (OPWC) Physician Advisory Council. In addition, Dr. Dasarathy serves on the OAFP’s National Action Committee, Family Medicine Workshop Workgroup, and Member Constituencies Workgroup. She is also a member of the OAFP Board of Directors.
As for national service, Dr. Dasarathy is a regular National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL) attendee. She was elected in 2015 as special constituency alternate delegate to the AAFP Congress of Delegates (COD) and served as a special constituencies delegate to the 2016 AAFP COD. She served as a member constituency alternate delegate at the 2018 AAFP COD and as member constituencies delegate at the 2019 COD in Philadelphia.
Dr. Dasarathy’s term of service began on December 15 and ends Saturday, December 14, 2024.
