#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need cause by COVID-19, no matter who or where you are. Today, we come together as a global community to give, to help, to heal, to thank.
Give.
Adapting to the change happening around our state and nation, the OAFP Foundation continues its work to build a strong family medicine workforce to carry the torch forward. Although in-person clinical rotations may not be possible this summer, the Foundation has outlined a virtual family medicine experience for students participating in its Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program.
These unprecedented times do not negate the valuable goals of the program in highlighting what family physicians do for their patients and communities. It’s times like these that family physicians are critical, making it even more important to instill this in medical students early in their career.
The Foundation is adjusting, just as many of you are, and we will continue to provide medical students a valuable experience to witness firsthand the career of a family physician. However, we can’t do it without you.
We know what a difficult time this is, but if you are able to give, your contribution is needed and much appreciated. Donate today through the Foundation’s online donation page.
Help.
The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians has created a COVID-19 webpage and continually adds federal updates, resources, and helpful information for all family physicians as you navigate these unknown waters. Your Academy is here for you!
Heal.
The OAFP has also created a Joy Among Chaos webpage in hopes that it may provide an online oasis to heal and re-center. The page includes links to wellness resources, positive stories and articles, and free educational materials. You can bookmark this page and return to it in the coming days and weeks whenever you need a reminder of the good or a self-check on your well-being and self-care practices.
