The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) emphasizes the continued importance of consistent and timely reporting of all COVID-19 vaccinations to the state. A strong, coordinated approach to data reporting is critical to collect, track, and analyze vaccination data with urgency across Ohio and nationally. This is especially important as Ohio continues to experience very high COVID-19 case rates and hospitalization rates.
As a reminder, all Ohio COVID-19 vaccine providers are required to report vaccine administration within 24 hours through the Ohio Impact Statewide Immunization Information System (ImpactSIIS), and agreed to meet these data reporting requirements as part of the enrollment process.
This reporting requirement helps ensure the COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard viewable by the public displays the most recent data, including the number of individuals who have started and completed the primary vaccination series, as well as the number who have received additional or booster doses. The dashboard also contains demographic and geographic data.
It’s important to note that all enrolled Ohio COVID-19 vaccine providers have access to patient vaccine history for COVID-19 and other vaccines through ImpactSIIS to ensure that a patient receives the appropriate number of vaccines on the appropriate schedule. Accessing current data is a critical part of the vaccination process.
Ohio vaccine providers who are working in partnership with schools or employers for special vaccination efforts also must ensure that vaccination data is reported within 24 hours.
ODH offers job aids and videos that will take you step-by-step through processes that are a key part of administering the COVID-19 vaccine to patients and sharing important data. Visit the ODH Provider Training webpage for additional training resources.
