The OAFP Foundation’s (Foundation) Annual Past Presidents’ Quilt Raffle is one of those traditions that members look forward to every year. For more than three decades, this special tradition has brought together generosity, craftsmanship, and a shared commitment to the future of family medicine in Ohio. Each ticket purchased supports the next generation of physicians while giving participants the chance to take home a truly one-of-a-kind keepsake.
This year’s handcrafted quilt will again be created by OAFP Past President Sarah Sams, MD, whose beautiful quilts have become a beloved highlight of the raffle year after year.
What began in 1990 through the efforts of Diane Todd and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Auxiliary has grown into a meaningful Foundation tradition. Since 2000, past OAFP presidents and Foundation chairs have continued the raffle tradition with one important purpose: supporting medical student programs that inspire future family physicians.
Today, 100% of raffle proceeds directly benefit programs like the Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program, helping medical students gain hands-on experience in family medicine practices across Ohio.
- 33% of Preceptorship participants choose family medicine for residency
- 72% ultimately enter primary care.
Every ticket helps invest in the future physician workforce our communities depend on.
- Win a stunning, handmade quilt crafted with care and tradition
- Support medical student education and mentorship opportunities
