The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) is thrilled to partner with the Arkansas, Maryland, Minnesota, and Wisconsin chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians to bring you an American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)-endorsed Family Medicine Certification Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA) group study on the Care of Older Adults.
Date: Sunday, October 26
Time: 5:30 p.m. EST
Place: Anywhere you have an internet connection!
This interactive, virtual program is a unique chance to complete your KSA while connecting with family physician colleagues from across the country – all from the comfort of your home or office. Led by an expert content leader, the session combines peer-to-peer learning, discussion, and certification prep into one experience.
Don’t wait – space is limited! Only the first 45 Ohio members to register will secure a spot (overall attendance is capped at 175). This popular session typically fills quickly. A waitlist will be kept after the initial 45 registrations and space will be determined by final numbers from all partnering chapters.
Topic Details
This KSA focuses on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of conditions common in older adults, plus important topics in geriatric psychiatry, rehabilitation, and health policy. You’ll leave with updated knowledge, evidence-based strategies, and tools to enhance the care you provide to your older patients.
After successful completion of the Care of Older Adults KSA, learners will have been exposed to up to date content as it relates to older adult patients and have an opportunity to close knowledge gaps that existed prior to participation in the Care of Older Adults KSA activity including:
- Assess knowledge gaps in care of older adults and demonstrate improved understating in the diagnosis and management of common and some uncommon medical conditions that occur in older adults, including geriatric psychiatry.
- Provide evidence-based medical guidance to older adult patients in areas of prevention of disease and rehabilitation from disease.
- Have a better understanding of health systems, policies, and issues as it relates to older adult patients.
- Cost: $120 for members ($90 for Ohio residents)
- Registration Deadline: Friday, October 17
- Capacity: First 45 Ohio registrants guaranteed; others will be placed on a waiting list
- Questions: Contact Jessica Gmerick.
Register today to secure your spot before it’s gone!
