The State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO) recently voted to make several changes to the questions on the initial physician (MD, DO, DPM) application and renewal application. The SMBO anticipates the updates to the application taking effect on Thursday, August 13.
Some of the changes include:
- Streamlined questions
- Greater consistency between each application type
- New questions that prompt physicians to provide additional information if they provide an affirmative responses
- A question about the percentage of practice that is telehealth
- A question that asks about the agreements with physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Note: There is an exception for agreements within a hospital setting.
