- Hiten Patel, MD (2018 resident recipient from The Ohio State University Family Medicine Residency Program)
- Shanna Stryker, MD (2016 resident recipient from University of Cincinnati/The Christ Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program)
- Haley Coleman (2016 student recipient from Northeast Ohio Medical University) Christina Pindar (2015 student recipient from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine).
Dr. Patel and Mr. Paulus are both very excited about this opportunity. Following is what each of them had to say about their participation in this project:
“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work on improving my leadership and research skills. I am most excited to learn about the incredible research and ideas that my co-attendees are working on and I look forward to collaborating with them. Most of all, I hope to bring back ideas and skills to advance clinical care and education in central Ohio,” said Dr. Patel, MD.
“I am more than excited to be participating in Family Medicine Leads Emerging Leader Institute. I look forward to the opportunity to network and work closely with the AAFP and other resident and student leaders across the country. Overall, I am most excited about the opportunity to gain the tools and resources to develop as an effective leader. One of my career goals is to be a physician leader and help lead the next generation of family physicians. I believe my experience with the institute and working with mentors from the AAFP will give me a great roadmap to help me achieve that goal. While the full details of my project are not finalized, I plan to have the project be related to rural health,” said Mr. Paulus.
