Join us for the next Bite-Sized Learning Session on Sunday, September 20, at 8 p.m. live on the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) Facebook page.
Moderated by OAFP President Mike Sevilla, MD, this week’s session will focus on the future of family medicine with special guest speaker and past OAFP member, American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) President-Elect Ada Stewart, MD, FAAFP!
Dr. Stewart, a family physician with Cooperative Health in Columbia, SC, has been a member of the AAFP since 1995. She has served on numerous commissions and committees, most recently as a member of the AAFP Commission on Health of the Public and Science, and past chair of the commission’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Advisory Committee.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Dr. Stewart earned her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH, and her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences), in Toledo, OH.
The duo will discuss everything from Dr. Stewart’s journey to family medicine, starting in the best state Ohio, to her past year as AAFP president-elect, and her vision for the future of family medicine.
Listen in for another amazing family medicine story and a chance to ask questions of the incoming AAFP president!
This series of Bite-Sized Learning Sessions has been created to serve as an opportunity for members to come together during a time when connecting and learning from each other is crucial. Join family physician presenters as they share their story of family medicine, a practice pivot, or a newfound joy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The OAFP will host these learning sessions on Sunday evenings (as we have speakers and topics), beginning at 8 p.m. Members can join the conversation by logging on to the OAFP Facebook page to watch live. We’ll open with a brief welcome and turn it over to the moderator and presenter to share. Live viewers can submit questions and comments through Facebook comments throughout the session. The sessions will be 60 minutes or less!
- Sunday, September 27, at 8 p.m., “Alaskan Family Medicine” with AAFP Board Chair John Cullen, MD, FAAFP.
