On February 10, there State Senator Shannon Jones (R-Beavercreek, OH) introduced Senate Bill 279, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) independent practice bill in the Ohio Senate. The bill has not yet been referred to a standing committee for consideration.
This bill would be in addition to legislation (House Bill 216) already introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives by Representative Dorothy Pelanda (R-Marysville, OH) that seeks to grant APRN independent practice in Ohio. House Bill 216 is currently being heard by the House Health and Aging Committee.
