On November 15, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians held its 10th session of the Wellness Wednesdays series that focused on understanding the importance of nutrition on overall wellbeing.
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was video recorded and has been added to OAFP’s Wellness Wednesdays archive. Included in the archive, are several valuable resources including several resources and several free apps that will help you make nutritious food selections – even on the go!
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesdays program is a structured, monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine and to reignite our member’s passion for family medicine.
The series is facilitated by a licensed professional clinical counselor from the Ohio Physicians Health Program (OPHP) and is offered for free to Ohio Academy of Family Physicians members. Each session of the series program will take place the third Wednesday of each month over the typical lunch hour, 12:15-1:00 p.m.
If you have not registered already, there is still space available for the next Wellness Wednesdays session set for Wednesday, December 13, titled, Mastering the Art of Gratitude. This session will inspire you to reflect upon the people and events that have positively impacted your life and will challenge you to take action by showing your appreciation. It is a great topic to address during the holiday season and the last series session to round out the year.
Other resources for improving physician wellness and beating burnout are available through the OAFP website.
