On August 22, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians held its fourth Wellness Wednesdays webinar that focused participants on how to deal with negative criticism in both their personal and professional lives.
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was recorded and has been archived on the OAFP’s website. Provided in the archive are several valuable online resources including articles and self-help tools that will motivate you toward personal introspection on the behaviors, tasks, and goals that emphasis your own wellbeing.
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesdays program is a structured, bi-monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine.
If you have not registered already, there is still space available for the next Wellness Wednesdays series session set for Wednesday, October 17, titled, “Coping with the Emotional Impact of Adverse Patient Outcomes.” The program will be facilitated by a licensed professional clinical counselor from the Ohio Physicians Health Program (OPHP), is offered for free, and scheduled over the typical lunch hour, 12:15-1:00 p.m.
Other resources for improving physician wellness and beating burnout are available through the OAFP website.
