On October 18, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians held its ninth session of the Wellness Wednesday series that focused on creating emotional energy through physician exercise.
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was video recorded and has been added to OAFP’s Wellness Wednesdays archive. Included in the archive are several valuable resources including several articles, videos, and a free app that will help you create an exercise plan that is right for you…even if it’s for less than 10 minutes a day!
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesdays program is a structured, monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine and to reignite our member’s passion for family medicine.
The series is facilitated by a licensed professional clinical counselor from the Ohio Physicians Health Program (OPHP) and is offered free to OAFP members. Each session of the series will take place the third Wednesday of each month over the typical lunch hour, 12:15-1 p.m.
If you have not registered already, there is still space available for the next Wellness Wednesdays session set for Wednesday, November 15, titled, You are What You Eat. This session will explain how nutrition plays a valuable role in overall wellness—a program that is perfectly timed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Other resources for improving physician wellness, strengthening resiliency, and beating burnout are available through the OAFP website.
