On June 19, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) held its third session of the 2019 Wellness Wednesdays program. Participants who tuned in focused on learning the benefits of lifestyle medicine and building healthy habits to improve well-being.
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was recorded and has been archived on the OAFP website. Several online links to resources and articles are provided in the archive, as well as a link to the session’s PowerPoint presentation.
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesdays program is a structured, bi-monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine.
The next session of the series is set for Wednesday, August 21, titled, “Talking with Your Employers About Systems Changes that Address Administrative Burdens ” with speaker Christine Sinsky, MD, Vice President, Professional Satisfaction and Practice Sustainability at the American Medical Association.
Members from all American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) chapters and members from organizations in the Ohio Physician Wellness Coalition are invited to participate and join the conversation, all thanks to a grant provided by the AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium, made possible through its Dues Check-Off Program!
Other resources for improving physician wellness and beating burnout are available on the OAFP website.
