On April 17, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians held its second session of the 2019 Wellness Wednesdays series that focused participants on learning the benefits of connecting to community – local communities, social networking communities, and more!
For those who were not able to join the session, the program was recorded and has been archived on the OAFP’s website. Provided in the archive are several online links to resources and articles to get you started, as well as the session’s PowerPoint presentation.
The Academy’s Wellness Wednesdays program is a structured, bi-monthly webinar series that focuses on enhancing professional and personal wellness. Creation of the series is the result of the OAFP’s Joy of Medicine Workgroup – a group of volunteer physicians tasked to champion the strategic objective of bringing back the joy to family medicine.
The next session of the series, Lifestyle Medicine: Healthy Habits to Imrprove Your Well-Being, is set for Wednesday, June 19, with speaker Jonathan Bonnet, MD, CAQSM, FAAFP, chair of the American Academy of Family Physician’s Lifestyle Medicine Member Interest Group.
Members from all AAFP chapters and members from organizations in the Ohio Physician Wellness Coalition are invited to participate and join the conversation, thanks to a grant provided by the AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium that was made possible through its Dues Check-Off Program!
Other resources for improving physician wellness and beating burnout are available through the OAFP website.
