Resolution No. 2: Evaluate OAFP Resolution Process

WHEREAS: In recent years there have been few resolutions brought before the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians annual Members Assembly, and

WHEREAS: The parliamentary process can be intimidating for those who are not familiar with it, making it hard for all to have their voice heard, and

WHEREAS: There is limited time during the annual Members Assembly and there are many topics that members would like to have addressed, and

WHEREAS: Communication technologies are making it easier for members to share their concerns, and

WHERAS: A continuous resolution process, whereby members could submit resolutions at any time to be considered at the next board meeting, would allow issues to be addressed in a more timely manner, therefore, be it

RESOLVED: That the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians evaluate ways for members to have input into Academy policy that could serve as an alternative to the resolution process at the Members Assembly.
