Following is information regarding upcoming opportunities offered by the OAFP Foundation. Deadlines are quickly approaching!
- Foundation Delegate/Alternate Delegate Scholarships to the American Academy of Family Physicians National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students
The OAFP Foundation offers scholarships to attend the AAFP National Conference. A resident delegate and alternate delegate and a student delegate and alternate delegate will be selected. Delegates will represent Ohio residents and students respectively during the congress sessions at the conference. Delegates and alternate delegates will elect national officers, advocate for a wide variety of issues and causes, and receive valuable leadership training. All delegates as well as Ohio conference attendees will be invited to attend an Ohio-only reception at Bar Louie on Thursday, July 28, following the exhibit hall opening. The deadline to apply for a delegate/alternate delegate position is Friday, May 13. Applications can be found on the Foundation’s website.
- OAFP Foundation Resident and Student Trustees
The Foundation is seeking residents and students interested in serving on its board of trustees. The student and resident trustees will serve a one-year term beginning Friday, July 1, 2016, and ending Friday, June 30, 2017. Students and residents interested in serving, please contact Kaitlin Smith. Candidates should provide a brief statement describing their interest in serving on the Foundation Board of Trustees, as well as a current CV. The deadline for candidates’ statements of interest and CVs is Friday, June 3.
