The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP), in partnership with the Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, and Wisconsin chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), is offering two virtual Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA) group studies this fall. Registration for both KSAs is open now!
The first virtual KSA is focused on Hypertension and is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, at 5:30 p.m. The deadline to register is Friday, September 18.
The second virtual KSA is focused on Care of Children and is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, at 5:30 p.m. The deadline to register is Friday, October 16.
These innovative programs will use a robust web-based system that allows family physician learners from across the country with the opportunity to complete the KSA while engaging their peers and an expert content leader from a location of their choosing. Each program is limited to the first 45 OAFP members to register and typically takes four hours to complete.
Live KSA group studies are a popular way of completing the required Family Medicine Certification activity, and are innovative in developing a virtual learning session and delivering it nationwide to a large group of physician learners at the same time. These cutting-edge programs will bring the issues of hypertension and caring for children directly to the physician’s home or office with guidance from a peer expert and the knowledge sharing that occurs when completing a KSA with fellow family physicians.
A completed KSA will provide participants with 10 certification points towards the ABFM certification requirement. In addition, each activity has been reviewed and approved for up to 8 live Prescribed continuing medical education credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
For members, the cost to attend a KSA is $85 (ABFM fees still apply). For more information and to register, please visit the OAFP website. The virtual KSA’s are open to the first 45 registrants; any registrants after the first 45 will be placed on a waiting list. The overall virtual KSA attendance for each program will not exceed 150 participants.
