Last week the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students (National Conference) would transition to an all-virtual event to protect the health and safety of attendees. In light of these difficult times, we hope this provides an opportunity to get even more students and residents involved in this great opportunity to learn more about family medicine!
Just like the in-person event, the virtual National Conference is a must-attend event each year for students and residents! National Conference will still take place Thursday – Saturday, July 30 – August 1. However, the times have been adjusted to accommodate attendees’ varying time zones. An updated schedule can be found on the AAFP’s National Conference webpage. The AAFP is committed to providing a valuable opportunity for learning, networking, and interacting with exhibitors. The registration fee is being reduced to $130 for all attendees who register by Thursday, July 2; it increases to $155 on Wednesday, July 3. Anyone who has already registered will be refunded the difference.
- The ability to attend 11 hours of education opportunities through workshops and main stage sessions.
- Access to the recordings of workshops and sessions for 30 days after the event, totaling over 30 hours of education!
- A virtual Expo Hall broken into “floors” so that attendees can find the residency programs and exhibitors they’re most interested in. Students and residents will also have the ability to schedule one-on-one appointments with residency programs, recruiters, and other exhibitors.
- Networking opportunities that include formal ways to connect, as well as the ability to chat (including via video) with fellow attendees.
Registration and additional information can be found on the National Conference website.
