A tradition of fundraising for OAFP Foundation (Foundation) programs through an annual quilt raffle was begun by Diane Todd and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) auxiliary members in 1990.
In 2000, a new twist on this tradition was introduced when OAFP Past Presidents Mark Belfer, DO; Ross Black, II, MD; and Mary Jo Welker, MD; sponsored the purchase of the quilt and activity overall so that all raffle proceeds would benefit the Foundation’s programs.
The Foundation is pleased to announce that tickets are officially available to purchase for this year’s quilt. Once again, the talented OAFP Past President Sarah Sams, MD, FAAFP, will create a beautiful, handmade quilt for this year’s winner.
Purchase your tickets today for the opportunity to win a custom, handmade quilt!
Tickets are one for $10, six for $50, or 12 for $100.
The winner will be drawn and announced during the Virtual Membership Meeting on Thursday, August 8.
Proceeds from this activity go directly to programming that cultivates student career choice in the specialty of family medicine, such as the Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program. Outcomes of this program show that 32% of participants choose family medicine as their residency specialty at graduation and 72% choose primary care. Your contribution through this activity or a direct donation is vital to continued success!
