The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) is seeking 4–6 family physicians to participate in an upcoming virtual focus group in partnership with Ohio’s Outcomes Acceleration for Kids (OAK) Learning Network for its new initiative, Healthy2Learn.
Healthy2Learn is a statewide effort focused on addressing healthcare‑related barriers that contribute to absenteeism by bringing system partners together to identify challenges, test improvements, and better support students’ ability to be present and engaged.
This 60-minute virtual discussion, planned for Tuesday, June 16, at 7 p.m., will bring together frontline physician perspectives to help identify healthcare-related barriers impacting school attendance and explore opportunities to better support Ohio students and families. Insights gathered through the focus group will help inform statewide strategies aimed at improving student health, school engagement, and attendance.
In addition, a clinician toolkit is currently being developed to support this work, and feedback shared during the discussion will help guide the creation of practical resources for physicians caring for children and adolescents.
Family physicians play a critical role in understanding the challenges facing children and families, and participant input will help shape meaningful solutions across both healthcare and education systems. Participants will receive a $75 gift card in appreciation for their time and expertise.
Physicians interested in participating are encouraged to contact Emily Pavoni by Friday, June 5, for additional details.
