The Ohio State University (OSU) Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) has been selected as one of 12 FMIG teams to participate in a Primary Care Leadership Collaborative (PCLC) pilot program.
This collaboration is between three national organizations, the American Academy of Family Physicians, Family Medicine for America’s Health, and Primary Care Progress. Its purpose is to create a national leadership collaborative focused on promoting the advancement of primary care in local communities and preparing the next generation of providers to lead the transformation of primary care.
The collaboration kicks off with eight hours of leadership and “change-agentry” programming held in conjunction with this year’s National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students on Wednesday, July 26, in Kansas City, Mo.
National experts in the areas of primary care leadership, innovation, and community engagement will teach the curriculum. Participants will not only be advancing the state of primary care delivery and education at their local school, they will also be learning essential relational leadership practices they can bring to their future clinical, teaming, innovation and advocacy efforts. The collaborative runs from early fall to late spring.
Congratulations to OSU’s FMIG for being selected to participate in this groundbreaking initiative!
