Raising a child with complex behavioral needs can feel overwhelming, but families don’t have to face it alone. OhioRISE, Ohio’s specialized Medicaid program for youth under 21, is transforming care by making coordinated, community-based services more accessible than ever.
OhioRISE connects families to impactful supports like in-home therapy, short-term respite for caregivers, mobile crisis response, and funding for essential needs such as sensory tools or therapy supplies. Dedicated care coordinators help families understand their options so they don’t have to navigate the system alone.
Since launching in 2022, OhioRISE has served more than 55,000 children across Ohio. The program has also led to a 41% reduction in emergency department visits and a 60% reduction in residential treatment stays—helping more youth receive care while remaining safely at home.
