The Governor’s Office of Health Transformation (OHT), in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), is hosting a clinician comment session for three episodes of care (headache, low back pain, and skin and soft tissue infection) on Monday, November 13, from 1-3 p.m. at ODM, located at 50 W. Town Street in downtown Columbus, OH. The goal of this session is to explore opportunities to improve patient care and to reduce unnecessary variation in clinical practice.
In December 2014, the OHT was awarded a federal grant to implement payment models that support comprehensive primary care and episode-based payments. To date, OHT, in collaboration with ODM, has designed and launched reporting on 31 episodes. OHT and ODM value provider input in improving episode design as clinical feedback is critical for the long-term success of the episodes program.
