Executive Vice President Ann Spicer and Deputy Executive Vice President Kate Mahler, CAE, attended the American Academy of Family Physicians Chapter Executive Leadership Program held October 13-14 in Las Vegas. Thirty-eight chapter executives and 9 deputies attended the conference which is sponsored annually by the AAFP Foundation.
Sessions included topics such as social media strategies, chapter leadership development programs, collaborative leadership, board governance, and human resources challenges. Attendees broke into groups for informal discussions on chapter leadership, meetings and non-dues revenue, membership and member engagement, and human resources and operations.
Chapter staff appreciates the support that the AAFP and the AAFP Foundation provides and we are grateful for the opportunity to share best practices and network with one another. AAFP chapters have tremendous staff leadership throughout the nation who work hard to advance family medicine and support our family physician members.
