On May 21, the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians signed on to a letter supporting the Improving Seniors Timely Access to Care Act legislation to reform prior authorization in the Medicare Advantage program.
The Regulatory Relief Coalition, of which the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is a member, is heading up this effort to pass legislation that would streamline and standardize prior authorization protocols in Medicare Advantage. The AAFP has long supported this bipartisan legislation, which would also establishing an electronic prior authorization program and ensure that the process is transparent.
