The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) proudly supports the reappointment of Renee L. Markovich, MD, to a second term as American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Foundation trustee. During her tenure as a trustee, Dr. Markovich has demonstrated her leadership skills and her dedication to the specialty of family medicine and the mission of the AAFP Foundation.
In his letter of chapter support, OAFP President Mike Sevilla, MD, stated, “Known for her organizational skills, her ability to formulate and execute plans, and her vision for “outside-the-box” problem-solving, Dr. Markovich has provided valuable oversight in the management of the AAFP Foundation. She serves as convener for the Center for the History of Family Medicine and as a member of the Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium. During her service on the AAFP Foundation board, she has proven herself to be selfless in giving her time, talen,t and treasure to the AAFP Foundation.”
The letter continues, “As a past chair of the OAFP Foundation and past recipient of its Philanthropist of the Year award, Dr. Markovich understands the philanthropic, educational, and humanitarian aspects of family medicine. She knows how to make the case to potential donors – making them see how their financial support of the AAFP Foundation helps achieve the AAFP Foundation’s mission to improve the health of all people. Dr. Markovich uses her energy to motivate others to contribute and personally leads by example.”
