On February 22, Kate Mahler, CAE, and Ann Spicer of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians staff participated in a Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) strategy call with the American Academy of Family Physicians and Health Impact Strategies.
The AAFP is in the process of developing and initiating a comprehensive member education and communications strategy aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of this new law. Given the importance of this work, the AAFP has contracted with Health Impact Strategies to assist in developing this strategy.
Health Impact Strategies wanted to engage a group of chapter executives in a call to gain a better appreciation of how the AAFP might partner with chapters on MACRA education/communications projects and, more importantly, how the AAFP might compliment/supplement work already being done and/or initiated.
Helping OAFP/AAFP members prepare for MACRA and other value-based payment programs will be a major objective in the coming months. Watch OAFP and AAFP communication vehicles for additional information and visit the OAFP website for more information.
