The State Health Assessment and State Health Improvement Plan Advisory Committee met on April 27 for the purpose of identifying state health priorities, metrics, objectives, and strategies for improving the health of Ohioans. Ohio Academy of Family Physician members Ted Wymyslo, MD, and Richard Shonk, MD, and Executive Vice President Ann Spicer serve on the Advisory Committee.
The Governor’s Office of Health Transformation competitively selected the Health Policy Institute of Ohio to facilitate the work of this committee and to update Ohio’s state health assessment and state health improvement plan. The updated State Health Improvement Plan will identify population health priorities within a framework that will be used to guide future funding priorities and other resource commitments.
The State Health Assessment is planned for release in summer 2016 and the State Health Improvement Plan will be released by December 2016.
