The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) and the OAFP Foundation recently received grant funding to support important initiatives in 2020 and 2021 from the AAFP Foundation Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium (FMPC).
The FMPC received a total of 41 applications for the 2020-21 grant cycle. Of the applications submitted, 28 received funding. Ohio was granted three of those awards! (Chapter and Chapter Foundations are only able to submit up to three applications per grant cycle).
The OAFP will receive $2,000 to support its 2021 Chief Resident Workshop and $2,000 to support the 2020-21 American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Resident Initiative. The OAFP Foundation will receive $1,000 to support its 2021 Leroy A. Rodgers, MD, Preceptorship Program.
The FMPC and its Grant Awards program is a collaborative program of the AAFP Foundation and the 55 AAFP Constituent Chapters and their Foundations. Since 2006, the FMPC Grant Awards program has provided $1,164,170 to support 347 projects from AAFP Constituent Chapter/Chapter Foundations in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
