Larry Francis, father of Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) Director of Membership Emily Pavoni, passed away on the evening of April 9, 2021.
Mr. Francis, 71, of Hebron, was born February 13, 1950, in Columbus, OH, the son of the late Robert M. and Lucille (Oldfield) Francis. He was a graduate of Watkins Memorial High School, class of 1968, and retired after 36 years with Owens Corning Fiberglas in Newark, OH.
Larry was a devoted family man and loved supporting his children and grandchildren with attendance at their events. He especially enjoyed women’s basketball, having had Ohio State University Lady Buckeye’s season tickets for many years, and loved seeing his granddaughter, Savannah Pavoni, play high school and college basketball. His lifelong passion was fishing.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife Patrice (Matthews) whom he married on May 26, 1973; his daughters Emily (Tom) Pavoni and their children Savannah and Bella; Elizabeth (Eric) Huffman and their son Maximus; his brother Jim (Karen) Francis; sister Sally (Tom) Wheeler; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Maggie Mae.
Honoring Larry’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
The OAFP will make a donation to the OAFP Foundation in memory of Mr. Francis.
